Of every big city that I've been to so far, Stockholm, Amsterdam and of course Copenhagen, bicycles have been an essential element. I think that people are happier and healthier because of it, and they just look cool. These are some of my favorites.

ReplyDeleteIf there are so many bikes around, does that mean there is generally less concern about locking them up too? You were writing about that earlier.
I've taken A LOT of bike pictures, but these are the cream of the crop. And people are much less concerned with locking them. The goal is to make it difficult for someone to accidentally get on it and ride away, or just make a quick escape. People usually use a small bar that locks through the spokes on the back tire to keep the wheel from turning, or a cable lock around the back wheel, but rarely more than that. So trusting!
